In October 2016, we joyously celebrated the 100th Anniversary of St. Teresa of Avila Parish, marking a century of faith, community, and shared history. The Centennial Celebration was initiated with our collaborative efforts alongside Habitat for Humanity, setting the tone for a year brimming with festivities.
Our engagement extended to various dimensions, including meaningful activities with Grade School students, enlightening tours of the Church, worship spaces, and campus, collaborative efforts in creating a new Parish Directory, the captivating Living History of the Parish, insightful Biographies of the Saints depicted in our Stained Glass windows, a touching Foreign Outreach Program, and culminated in a grand Celebration Mass on October 9, presided over by Archbishop Dennis Schnurr, followed by a jubilant reception.
Our gratitude knows no bounds as we express heartfelt thanks to our dedicated parishioners. Your unwavering commitment, countless volunteer hours, and invaluable input were instrumental in the success of all our centennial programs. It is through your devotion that we continue to strengthen our faith family.
Capturing the essence of this significant milestone is the Centennial History Book, titled "St. Teresa of Avila 1916-2016: A Parish History." Authored by Rev. David J. Endres, Ray Grothaus, and Rev. Michael L. Bidwell, this hardbound book offers a beautifully written narrative accompanied by striking photographs. Included are 36 pages dedicated to vividly capturing the memorable moments of the October 9, 2016 Centennial Mass and reception. Copies of this commemorative book are available at the parish office, serving as a lasting tribute to the rich history and vibrant spirit of St. Teresa of Avila Parish.
