Become a Wedding Facilitator
Our parish makes available a team of two wedding facilitators to anyone who is married at the Church. They will contact the bride and/or groom about two weeks prior to the wedding to see if they have any questions, remind them of the items needed to bring to the rehearsal like programs and/or unity candle, discuss any special decorations and obtain the names of the photographer and florist. The wedding facilitators attend the rehearsal, work with the celebrant to line everyone up, send them down the aisle as needed, and troubleshoots so the family can relax knowing that they will be taken care of on the big day. At the wedding, they arrive at the church about 1 hour in advance, attach bows to pews, set up flowers, set up the church, and handle any other arrangements, as needed. At the end of the service, they collect any programs from the pews, reset the church, store the unity candle, and put all the items needed to be removed from the church in one place for the family to take when they leave. This ministry is a wonderful experience for both the families they serve as well as very rewarding for the facilitators knowing they are helping to eliminate stress for the happy couple and their families.
