Adult Faith Formation

The pastoral region of St. Teresa and St. William is blessed to welcome Fr. Benedict O’Cinnsealaigh as our speaker on the evening of Thursday, December 1st at 7:00pm in St. Teresa’s Church. Fr. Benedict is the rector of Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary of the West and a gifted speaker. The title for Fr. Benedict’s presentation will be Preparing for Christ’s Coming at Christmas: Jesus is God’s Gift to Us. In keeping with this theme we invite those attending, who would like, to make a free will offering that will be sent as an Advent gift to Pregnancy Center West to assist with their important mission.

“Most adults are capable of a free and informed response of faith to God’s initiative of love. They have a right and a duty to bring to maturity the seed of faith sown in them by God. They have experienced the joys and challenges of life and have the capacity to question the truth and meaning of life. The catechesis of adults…is the principal form of catechesis because it is addressed to persons who have the greatest responsibilities and the capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form.” (National Directory for Catechesis, p.187)

“Adult faith formation, by which people consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer and study, must be the central task in this catechetical enterprise…” (Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us, #5.) Weekday classes are offered periodically throughout the year. When available, information will be posted on the Parish Events Calendar, the weekly bulletin or under this tab. Thank you for your interest and stay tuned for more information.
